Scottish Family History Old Parish Records

Civil Registrationwas introduced in Scotland on 1st January 1855. Prior to this date, records were kept by the Church of Scotland, the Established church at that time. They were called the Old Parish Records. Records kept by other churches are slowly becoming available.
