What's in a name? A lot, apparently. The iPhone 5C moniker is still lingering in the air, with a new report claiming this will be the name of Apple's budget handset.
We'd start out by saying that this source, appearing over on Japanese blog Mac Otakara, is unnamed and possibly unverified, so caution is well advised.
However according to the anonymous tipster, the 5C is the name to expect. The same title recently popped up after a picture of some packaging boxes with the name written down the side, appeared online.
Golden days
The source then went on to say that the iPhone 5S, expected to launch on September 10 alongside the budget iPhone, will come in a new colour of its own - gold. This isn't the first we've heard of this being a possible colour option, either.
Also of note: the source added that the square icon found on the iPhone's home button will be removed, though didn't elaborate beyond that.
But donning our detective hats, we can see that this goes hand in hand with talk of Apple's rumoured fingerprint sensor sitting on that very button, which makes most logical sense if you think about it.
