HTC One V: the real name for the Ville

The One V is the latest HTC handset set to join the 'One' family at the brand's MWC 2012 press conference according to sources.

We've already heard that the Endeavor and Ville have transformed into the One X and One S respectively and now the rumoured HTC Primo has joined in the name-changing game by becoming the HTC One V.

The HTC One V is reported by Pocket Lint sources to sport Dr Dre's Beats Audio technology and the handset is said to be the 'Ying to the HTC Rhyme's Yang'. Simply put ? the One V looks set to be aimed at blokes and the Rhyme the ladies.

Specifications are unconfirmed but sources have suggested the One V will run the latest version of Android's sweetly named Ice Cream Sandwich, pack a 3.7-inch screen powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

There will also be a 5MP camera capable of capturing HD (720p) video. We also expect to see HTC's new Sense 4.0 overlay sitting on top of Ice Cream Sandwich.

Fingers are still tightly crossed that we will see a slick pair of Beats headphones in the box with the One V a la HTC Sensation XE - but no word on this yet.

We will be reporting live from Barcelona at the end of February to bring you the official announcements from HTC and we look set to see at least three handsets from the Taiwanese giant, with the possibility of a tablet thrown in for good luck.
