Nokia Lumia 900 to hit AT&T on April 8

Nokia Lumia 900 to hit AT&T on April 8

The Nokia Lumia 900, the company's flagship Windows Phone device will finally go on sale exclusively through AT&T on April 8, say reports.

Multiple sources claim that the device will become available for online orders on the 8th, while hitting brick and mortar AT&T outlets one day later.

Microsoft, Nokia and AT&T are yet to confirm the launch date, but WP Central says it has word from AT&T employees that the dates are accurate.

The Lumia 900, complete with a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen, an LTE Radio and a wide-angle 8-megapixel camera was probably the most popular smartphone to land at CES 2012 in Las Vegas.

Practically giving them away

Meanwhile, ahead of the launch, Nokia is reportedly planning to spend $25m on equipping AT&T sales employees with the Lumia 900.

WPCentral reckons that it'll be made a 'Company Use' phone, meaning that each sales rep will get one for free so customers gain the impression that it's the handset of choice for 'experts'

Nokia is already offering a pretty good incentive to jump on board with its Windows Phone device by offering it for just $99 (around 60) on a two-year contract.

The Finns certainly seem prepared to take a hit in the pocket in order to catapult its Lumia range to the top of the smartphone tree.
