It has been confirmed that some Sony Xperia S screens develop a yellow tint if the handset gets too hot.
In a statement sent to CNET UK, Sony highlighted that it was aware of the issue, but noted that it only affected a small number of Xperia S handsets.
"Sony Mobile Communications has identified that the display on a limited number of Xperia S smartphones may show a slight yellow tint if exposed to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius."
And it was all yellow
Sony has confirmed that its Xperia S manufacturing process has been altered, to avoid this issue occurring on any more handsets.
There's good news for any of you with an Xperia S experiencing the problem, as Sony has said that it will "resolve this at no cost to the consumer" ? free phones for all*! (*who have an Xperia S with the yellow-tint issue)
Sony's first smartphone since its split with Ericsson impressed us greatly, scoring 4.5/5 in our in-depth Sony Xperia S review, we just hope this issue doesn't tarnish its image too much.
