Head and neck cancer causes about five percent of all known cancer attacks in the U.S. and mostly happen in people over 50, especially men. Head and neck cancer usually starts in areas like the mouth, nose or throat in the mucus membranes.
Some of these may be considered as cancers of the lips, tongue, mouth, salivary glands, nasal sinuses, pharynx, larynx (also called voicebox), and the lymph nodes in the neck. All of these can cause neck cancer symptoms.
